Taking Care of Your Home During COVID-19 – Part 1

taking care of your home during COVID-19 It’s lockdown round two and we’re all feeling the stress and constraints that come with it. For our global readers who are unaware, areas of Australia are putting safety and health first and that means a number of new restrictions that we need to follow. At the end of the day, they’re all necessary and we appreciate those who are being vigilant about taking care of themselves and each other. That makes it our job to take care of your house. While business models may change, our commitment to sharing information with you never will. And that’s why, you can always return to this blog and learn more and more about making your home safe and comfortable.

It’s easy to become complacent in times like this – in fact, it’s totally normal. Emotions run high, you’re hanging out with family or roommates more than you’re used to and you simply don’t have the energy to care half as much as you used to about things like your home. Exhale, visit the blog, learn a bit and give yourself lots and lots of grace. These are trying times and the RW Steel will always have your back. Read on for more information.

Honestly, it could be worse. It’s nice going into warmer weather when we’re stuck at home, because you have more incentive to be outside. Caveat… in your own space. We know that the rule is one hour of exercise outside a day, and while we’re still determining exactly what that means, it doesn’t touch your own personal outdoor spaces. So, if you’re going to be spending time there, make it pretty. Take this time to give yourself purpose and something to get your mind off of the general stress by diving into that landscaping or gardening project that you’ve been putting off. It can be big or small. At the end of the day, you’ll be proud of yourself for so many reasons – you accomplished something unique, you get to see it every day, and you most likely tried a new skill that you hadn’t before.

Also, for today, take pride in your home. We’re passionate about keeping the structures the best that they can be, but you get to enjoy every room and space – inside and outside – more and more right now. Whether that’s 20 minutes for chores in the morning to keep things tidy, or a deep clean once a week, remember that your home can be an important representation of you and those that are closest to you. More and more studies are showing the importance of living with a purpose right now – both to keep yourself sane, but also to up the morale of everyone around you. Looking for ideas? We’re a little bit partial, but check all of the warning signs of structural damage to your home first. Looking for more ideas? Give us a shout. The RW Steel team is here for you today, and every day.
